Jada Aliesa

My name is Jada Aliesa and I am a 6'1 international student in the class of 2024. I have spent the last 2 years at the American School of Kuwait, prior to that I attended the United Nations International School in Hanoi, Vietnam. 
 

Having lived overseas and needing to adjust to different cultures, styles of play and attitudes, I fully understand and grasp just how important being versatile is. I believe one of my biggest strengths is being able to be put in various spots or situations on the court and finding a way to impact winning.
 

As a key piece on Varsity as a freshman, I knew I had to not only score (leading scorer) but find other ways to help my teammates to get involved. This is where I believe my passing ability and court vision really helped. Whether it is being asked to go score the ball, initiate offense, guard the opposition tightly, play at the guard or forward spots, or play another role, I have experience doing so and am willing to do whatever it takes to help my team.
 

Growing up as the daughter of two coaches, I have been involved and around the game since a young age. In addition, both my parents played collegiately, with my mom attending UW-Whitewater and my dad attending UW-Oshkosh. This has helped shape how I view the game and I believe that I am able to be an extension of the coach out on the floor.
 

As a three-sport athlete (volleyball, soccer, basketball), I truly feel that the core of a good team is having good individuals with a passion for winning and caring about one another. Basketball has always been my passion and I intend to continue to do everything that I can on and off the court to put myself in a position to succeed.
